There are many places in the
world I have always wanted to visit. In the main, it is the most famous tourist
cities. However, recently I have seen the video about Victoria Falls, and I
have a great wish to visit this place. Choosing the material for the story I
have found out much cognitive and interesting information about the falls.
Victoria Falls is a
spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur on the Zambezi River in
Africa. Also it is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. While it is
neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world it is known as the
largest. The name Victoria Falls was given to the falls by the Scottish
explorer Dr. David Livingstone. The locals call the falls Mosi-oa-Tunya meaning
“smoke that thunders.”
Victoria Falls and the
surrounding area are very extensive, so it is impossible to see at a glance its
marvel. There are several ways to enjoy the beauty and splendor of the falls.
The first view comes from the air using a helicopter. The second and the most
impressive one is swimming in Devil’s Pond. Devil’s Pond is a natural mountain
basin which is located at 120 meters height. People who swam there told that it
was indescribable feeling and there wasn’t other place like this on earth.
Victoria Falls is located on
the territory of two national parks. So you can see wild animals such as
elephants and giraffes.
You can hardly find the lovely
words which haven’t described this magnificent natural wonder yet.
